Here are the basics of what to expect.

1. We walk through your home to determine what areas might need to be de-cluttered. We might suggest storing any unnecessary furniture or personal belongings. Buyers want to imagine themselves - not you - living there.

2. Next, our strategy is to edit the placement of your furniture and décor wherever necessary to create a feeling of balance, spaciousness and natural flow through each room.

3. We’ve found that neutral décor with hints of color and flair, appeal to the largest number of potential buyers. We will make adjustments to the layout of your home so that any excessive individualistic touches are played down.

- Most of our clients have more than enough “stuff” for us to stage with. However, some choose to give us a budget to spend for the home. Usually this goes toward accessories such as pillows, artwork or plants. Often, we also have inventory that is available to rent.

The way you “show” your home to the public needs to be different than how you live in it. So, we tell our clients to play the game called “Minimize the Evidence.”  The evidence in this case is – the evidence that you live there! We know it can be slightly inconvenient to do things like keeping your family of toothbrushes off of the bathroom counter, but you must repeat the mantra “this makes me money!”
